People love to feel safe and warm at Christmas.

It's one of the best parts of Christmas. That there's a place you can go which makes you feel warm and cozy during some of the most cold and difficult times of the winter season. It's one of the major reasons why people do it. Not just because people want to be warm and safe. These days you can do that pretty much anywhere. But there's something special about coming together with family and getting warm together. Especially because family is usually the people who make you feel the most warm and safe pretty much any time of year. Holidays have that effect on people. Nowhere is this more true than at Christmas. Different holidays have different meaning but one of the best is Christmas.

Some people have a great big family which they can go and see. People they might not see any other time of year but at Christmas. Yet in part because of this, these people feel like home. They feel like a warm blanket you can wrap around yourself and make you feel great. Hopefully the bigger the family the larger the place you have in order to gather and be together. It could be a place where you all grew up when you were kids. Where your parents used to get together. As a result, you feel a deep connection to the place similar to the way you feel about your family. Largely because you have family connections to these places.

Over time, you grow up and you take over for your parents and grandparents and become the people who are creating the space for you to give others the warmth of home. If you're really lucky, you have your own children one day and let them have the same feeling you had when you were younger and growing up. You can then pass down the place and the feelings you had to them and they can grow up to be passed down to when they become old enough to take on the responsibility. There's really nothing like this feeling at Christmas and no place many people would rather be at that time of year.

At the same time, they're not against making new friends like the Fraggles who have similar traditions which they're celebrating at the same time.
