The Muppet Christmas Carol and Perfecting a Classic

The moral case for having a perfect Christmas story.

Very little about Christmas is perfect.

So much of Christmas can go wrong and people struggle to protect it as much as possible. To make it as perfect as possible for as many people as it can be. This despite the fact that you have so many people who can make it go wrong. The wrong person can show up at the right time, or the right person can show up at the wrong time. You can lose the opportunity to get the turkey or other parts of Christmas dinner when you want it to. It happens in part when you create the impression of the perfect moment for everyone. Do everything you can to bring all the right pieces at the right time and for everything to go the way you want it to. Rarely does it ever work out the way you want it to. Each time you do it, you get a little better.

They make you feel so good. It's one of the first stories we ever told about the love of Christmas.

We've found so many different ways to tell some version of A Christmas Carol ever since it became such a popular story. You have it set in the Victorian era where it was originally created, the present, and even the future. When it comes right down to it though, people love the classic version. Set during the Victorian era where Scrooge is exactly who we think he is. It's a classic for a reason and the one which everyone expects. If you can somehow combine the classic parts of the original story with a new and interesting twist, that can make it nearly perfect.

The Muppets Family Christmas Carol is a pretty perfect version of a classic tale. It gives you all the elements of the original Scrooge tale while at the same time giving people something new and beautiful. The songs only add to the magic of the whole story and the way in which it uplifts your spirits and yet it doesn't stay away from the truly painful emotional moments that you need for everything to work out in the end. Where it really shines though is in the fact that it's not afraid to make fun of the crazy elements, but without undermining the emotions of Christmas which make you feel so good.

It's basically perfect as a classic Christmas movie.
