Ideally yes, people should take a journey towards the light and away from darkness. However some people don't know that they're heading towards darkness, they think they're going towards light but they're going about it wrong. To paraphrase a quote from I think elsewhere, sometimes it's not a light at the end of the tunnel, it's a train.
The point of the quote about the journey to darkness being a journey not a light switch is that many people believe that evil is just something that happens one day. Some people just wake up one day and decide to be evil. It's often a long process and the evil/darkness which seems to come out of nowhere didn't only happen.
…this is why the suggestion to move OUTSIDE one’s own mind, and make a mental /physical effort to attempt to bring joy or seek a joyful/ outward experience with intention. Evil/ darkness is insidious, if one makes a conscious effort to move positive thoughts and body towards SOMETHING… even just to smile, at a dog, a bird, something that one does with intention and positivity…
THIS changes the mindset…baby steps…
Hopefully this can help one to begin to open the mind to the awareness that TRAIN is a comin’!
Great helpful essay however
Question:
Why is one taking a Journey through life IN to DARKNESS?
Isn't one's a journey
through life life to push away the darkness, and continue to move towards light...
darkness is absence of light
Absence is complete nothing
One may not wish to travel thorough life into nothingness...
That seems hopeless...
Not sure I understand the quote...

I appreciate your view of the piece.

Just my two cents as I agree with you…
For sure, that's why I have a comic book about the idea of helping people on the most basic level. It's the best thing you can do for people.
