I LOVED *The House of Usher* when I watched it last October and November 2023.
Especially the first episode with R and M and how it all began.
And there's a narrative twist involved.
A really terrific series by Athena Walker about these corruptions with money and power in a family. Look for "Tell me a story" in the "Eye of the Storm" substack.
So many points about family and betrayal.
I am thinking in particular of the animal testing.
And more generally the way animals were treated in THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER - as commodities; as objects.
I don't know that they realise the truth of what they've done; per se.
So very good. Have you watched the haunting of hill house? What was your take on that?
I have. I’m pretty sure I have seen everything that Flannigan has made in terms of limited series.
I think that was my favorite so far.
Understandable. He does a great job making things emotional on the break down of a family.
I also have watched HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE
long before I knew that Flannigan existed.
A lot of the atmosphere and how he respected Shirley Jackson's work.
For me it was Midnight Mass. I really enjoyed it and checked out his other stuff.

They realise some of the effects.
